Eileen Köhler (b. 2003, Guatemala City, Guatemala) is a multidisciplinary artist working in painting, drawing, photography, cyanotype, and installation. Incorporating natural pigments and mixed media techniques, she creates layered atmospheric compositions marked by fluidity, transparency, and tonal depth. Her work is recognized for its visual resemblance to bodies of water and shifting organic formations.
Rooted in a contemplative practice, Eileen’s work examines the tension between interiority and contemporary overstimulation. Through intuition, spontaneity, and archetypal imagery, she investigates alternative ways of understanding reality beyond rational logic. Her works frequently engage the unconscious as a space through which identity and belonging can be examined. Influenced by philosophy, psychology, and esoteric traditions, her work balances intuitive gesture with material experimentation and symbolic resonance.
Her work has been presented in exhibitions including No necesita permiso at Alianza Francesa, Arte en Mayo at Fundación Rozas Botrán, the 38th Anniversary Exhibition at Galería El Attico and Museo Ixchel, Galería Abierta at Centro Cultural Municipal, and Puertas Abiertas al Arte at National Palace of Culture. Köhler’s work is held in private collections, Fundación Paiz, and the European Union Embassy in Guatemala.
